Explorers are encouraged to lead themselves in deciding the programme and direction of the Unit, with support and guidance from leaders.

The section also includes the Young Leaders’ Scheme, where young people are able to take on a leadership role in one of the younger sections.

We have a full-on programme with international camps to Kenya (in 2013, 2016 & 2019) and Ice & Fire Expedition Iceland (in 2014 & 2017), the Explorers also take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Recently, we have been gliding, sailing, mountaineering, go-karting, water activities, air-rifle shooting and much more.

Our Explorer Unit currently has 15 active members. If you would like to join us, or you’ve got an interest in helping us out then please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!

We meet on Friday nights from 7:15pm-9:00pm
