The Leaders have been busy planning evening sessions and outdoor activities for the New Year. We try to get the Young People involved by running short activities where they give us feedback on what has been happening and suggest things that they would like to try, which we then do our best to accommodate.

In February we have a Leader Development weekend where the Leaders and Explorers get together to learn new technical and personal skills, develop team working skills and undertake some strategic planning. Plans for the Explorer trip to Kenya at Easter will be finalised and travel arrangements completed. Group Camp is very soon after Easter and everyone’s ideas for activities will be discussed and a draft programme completed.

Our fundraising team recently put on a quiz in Hoxne Village Hall which raised nearly £600 and have another planned for Stradbroke Community Centre on Saturday 23 February. Look out for the posters or to book a place for your team contact Michael on 01379 668060. Our calendar with local seasonal views is selling well, if you would

Work continues on grant applications for the main building project. Our Building on Community Foundations Appeal for sponsorship from individuals, families, organisations, businesses and community groups to sponsor metre squares for a donation of £50 continues to grow. If you are able to help us with sponsorship all you need is on the Fundraising page of our website.

We are still making progress with the new site; a working day in early December saw 400 saplings planted, bird and bat boxes placed in the trees, firewood stacked and the reflective space developed. The Planning Department have visited to assess the soil type and advise on the likely depth of foundations required.
